The Week in Weed: August two, 2019


Welcome back to The Week in Weed, your Friday appear at what’s taking place in the planet of legalized marijuana.

Let’s begin with the eagerly awaited hemp guidelines.  There will have to be a bit a lot more awaiting, it appears.  Administration officials, who had mentioned regulations may be offered in August, are now predicting their look this fall.

In other federal news, the DEA has, but once again, not authorized new suppliers of marijuana for investigation.  A lawsuit is pending, so possibly subsequent year, issues will be distinct.

Or possibly Senator Dick Durbin’s (D-IL) legislation will pass.  It would eliminate restrictions on federal investigation into cannabis and expand research on the prospective added benefits and harms from cannabis use.

Meanwhile, the state of Arizona is experimenting with a new process to get about the lack of banking solutions for marijuana corporations.  The state’s lawyer common has authorized a pilot system permitting digital payments to healthcare cannabis dispensaries.

In other state news, Alaska has authorized social-use regulations corporations are difficult Utah‘s healthcare marijuana grower licenses, and lawmakers in the state are searching for to transform the distribution program and a number of Oklahoma dispensaries are suing Facebook for allegedly disabling their enterprise pages.

Across the pond, a group of UK lawmakers, inspired by a trip to Canada, are hoping to legalize cannabis inside 10 years.  And the new prime minister, Boris Johnson, has appointed a cannabis advocate as a policy adviser.

And ultimately, the alcohol market has decided to join in the marijuana edible enterprise.  So be on the lookout for weed beer.
